5 Habits of People With Extremely Clean Homes

Cleaning and organizing can sometimes be a real drag. We want the final results of a clean home, but don’t want to go through all the work it takes to get it there. However, having a clean home doesn’t need to be an overwhelming task, and keeping a clean home is much easier than doing major cleanups all the time. Many homeowners with picturesque homes simply practice the same few habits daily to keep it this way. Follow these 5 habits of people with extremely clean homes and be the envy of all your guests!

1.) Keep Clutter Out

An important thing to notice is that many homeowners will keep their space organized and picked up, but it’s not necessarily pristinely clean at all times. A home without clutter spread throughout comes across as very clean in comparison. Clutter also contributes to more dust settling in hard to reach places. So, less clutter actually does contribute to a cleaner home.

Throughout the day, make a habit of putting things back where they belong as you use them. Shoes, jackets, device chargers, blankets, shoes, and mail tend to easily collect around homes. If you have kids, remind them to put away their toys and hang up their backpacks. This simple practice will make your home incredibly more tidy each and every day.

2.) Daily Laundry

There’s nothing worse than staring down multiple overflowing hampers at the end of each week. In order to keep a cleaner home, do one load of laundry every other day. This will make the task feel much less daunting and it will keep your home cleaner. Unfortunately, dirty clothes which are left out tend to attract bugs. Gross! Keep your space clean by routinely washing clothes. This will also make it much easier to fold and hang clothes when finished. If you have mountains of laundry to put away all at once, you probably won’t be feeling very motivated. Small loads of laundry every other day make the entire process much more palatable.

3.) Clean As You Go

Similar to picking up your home throughout the day, cleaning in small bits is sure to keep your home sparkling. After each meal is eaten and the dishes are done, take a minute or two to wipe down your table, counters, and stovetop. If you went into the bathroom to wash your hands, it only takes a few seconds to also wipe down your bathroom counters and mirror. Incorporating these cleaning practices into your daily routine will ensure your home is in tip top shape.

4.) Indoor Air

Many homeowners with homes which feel ultra clean have a secret to it. Having purified air inside your home is truly a game changer, and one you’d likely never guess! Homeowners who have an air purification system installed experience the benefits of a home with fresher, cleaner air. Air purification systems remove up to 99.9% of the airborne allergens, dust, pollen, and other contaminants in your home. Not only is this healthier, but you’ll notice the difference of purified air inside your home.

5.) Donate

If you’re having trouble keeping your home organized, make the choice to donate things you don’t need. Take one day a week to go through the items in your home and make piles for donation. Think about clothes you don’t wear anymore, kitchen devices which have been sitting back in your cabinets,  furniture that’s gathering clutter, and more. All of these items are great choices for donating. This way you can keep your home clean and feel good while doing so!
